PHOTOREJUVENATION, WITH A PLAN

NOT ALL LIGHT SHOULD TREAT ALL COLOUR.

Nordlys uses Selective Waveband Technology to deliver carefully selected light energy into the skin.

That light is absorbed by targeted brown pigment or visible vascular structures, depending on what we are treating.

The goal is a clearer, more even-looking complexion without treating every spot, vessel and skin tone exactly the same way.

We don’t chase colour blindly. We identify it first.

THE LIGHT STORY

SEE THE COLOUR.
CHOOSE THE TARGET.

Brown pigment and visible redness absorb light differently.

That is why photorejuvenation starts with understanding what we’re looking at — not simply turning on an IPL device.

Right target. Right light. Better plan.

THE PHOTOREJUVENATION SEQUENCE

01 IDENTIFY THE COLOUR
02 TARGET WITH LIGHT
03 CLEAR PROGRESSIVELY

The visible response develops after treatment as targeted pigment or redness gradually changes and the skin settles.

THE NORDLYS EDIT

WHAT ARE WE TRYING TO CLEAR?

Photorejuvenation is strongest when we know exactly which colour we’re targeting.

01 CLEAR

SUN SPOTS

Targets visible brown pigment associated with accumulated sun exposure and photodamage.

02 EVEN

BROWN PIGMENT

Useful for selected superficial pigment and uneven-looking brown discoloration.

03 CALM

REDNESS

Light-based treatment can also be incorporated into plans for selected visible redness and vascular colour.

04 BRIGHTEN

PHOTOAGING

Helps improve the overall appearance of sun-related uneven colour and clarity.

BROWN OR RED?

SAME FACE.
DIFFERENT TARGET.

01
PIGMENT TARGET

BROWN

Sun spots, freckles and selected areas of superficial brown pigment absorb light differently from vascular redness.

BROWN ISN’T A DIAGNOSIS

PIGMENT DESERVES MORE THAN A GUESS.

A sun spot, post-inflammatory pigment and melasma can all look brown — but they do not necessarily behave the same way.

That matters because IPL is not automatically the correct answer for every pigmentation concern.

We consider skin tone, pigment pattern, recent sun exposure, heat sensitivity and treatment history before choosing Nordlys.

Sometimes the best IPL decision is deciding not to IPL.

AFTER NORDLYS

THE SPOTS MAY GET LOUDER
BEFORE THEY GET QUIETER.

Temporary changes after photorejuvenation can be part of a normal treatment response.

01

REDNESS

Temporary redness or warmth may occur immediately after treatment.

02

DARKENING

Brown spots may temporarily appear darker before gradually fading.

03

DRY / FLAKY SPOTS

Treated pigment may develop a temporary dry or coffee-ground-like appearance.

04

CLEARER TONE

Improvement develops progressively as the treated areas settle.

TIMING MATTERS

YOUR TAN GETS A VOTE.

Active tanning and significant recent sun exposure can make IPL treatment inappropriate or require delay.

This is one reason photorejuvenation plans are often easier to schedule during lower-sun seasons.

Your skin tone, exposure history and pigment concern always decide the pace.

Good laser timing is part of good laser treatment.

GOOD TO KNOW

NORDLYS PHOTOREJUVENATION FAQ.

WHAT IS NORDLYS PHOTOREJUVENATION? +

Nordlys photorejuvenation uses selective light energy to target visible brown pigment and selected vascular redness for a clearer-looking complexion.

IS SWT THE SAME THING AS IPL? +

SWT stands for Selective Waveband Technology. It is Candela’s light-based Nordlys technology used for IPL-style photorejuvenation treatments.

WHAT IS NORDLYS BEST FOR? +

Common treatment goals include sun spots, freckles, visible redness, selected vascular colour and signs of photodamage.

CAN NORDLYS TREAT MELASMA? +

Melasma needs careful assessment because heat and light can aggravate some cases. IPL is not automatically our first choice for melasma.

WHY DO BROWN SPOTS GET DARKER AFTER IPL? +

Targeted pigment can temporarily darken after treatment before gradually lifting and fading from view.

HOW MANY TREATMENTS WILL I NEED? +

Treatment number depends on your concern, skin response, sun exposure and overall plan. Photorejuvenation is commonly approached as a series.

CAN I HAVE IPL IF I AM TANNED? +

An active tan can make IPL inappropriate. Your current skin tone and recent sun exposure are assessed before treatment.
